Ug. That first link is helpful. I am def compulsive shopper, mostly when I am sad, lonely, or PMSing...it all goes on a credit card that is starting to spiral out of control...but i have male shopping habits...i usually buy dvds, audiobooks, exercise equip that i dont' use etc. The hard part won't be asking myself the 6 questions, it will be not rationalizing and justifying my reasons lol.

Ditto on the first link. I looked and the one question that is really relevant to me was "Can it wait?" because I often want instant gratification, but rarely use what I've bought right away (i.e. the piles of books I had to have that I haven't read yet).

That debt comparison calculator is interesting. I was confused about how the average education debt for all under 35-years-old was only $5,322 before I realized that there are a lot of people out there without student loans (and some who've had their loans paid off before the age of 35. Unfortunately, I still have about $17,000 of mine to go...

Compulsive Shoppers should simply go shopping with my husband, "Do you need that? What are you going to wear it with? Didn't you just buy one exactly like that? Another one? How many pairs of shoes do you need? Don't you have jeans? Why? Are you sure? You've never worn anything like that before., You just got some new shirts., You don't even wear the dresses in your closet. Maybe you should clean out your side of the closet and then come shopping. If you get rid of half the stuff in there you would find you have enough clothes. If you have a garage sale, I will match what ever you make." Seriously, he would make anyone want to run from a store screaming! Like anything you would make off of a garage sale would be enough to shop with.
